Editorials

front cover spread article spread

When brainstorming about this editorial I wanted to create an image that would capture the viewer’s attention when they turn the page in a magazine. The images were both of families with children, and they were placed in a Polaroid picture to give the sense of a family portrait. The reason I choose the Polaroid backing is because they are instant and momentary like the adoptions of the families in the story. The children were cut out of the picture and left a black hole to symbolize the hole that is missing in the future parent’s lives. The Polaroid theme was continued throughout the editorial again enhancing the feeling of being temporary. I wrote out a child type font for the title to add contrast. This piece will capture a viewer’s attention and heart with the striking images.
