There are many different ways of getting your concept across without displaying photos on it. For my “Did You Kiss the Blarney Stone?” book cover, I went through the process of finding the right images that portrayed the spirit of the book. The border on the cover is made out of a stamp that gives the feeling of carved stones. The Rock face in the background is an actual picture that I took and manipulated to appear as a cut out. The lips are mine and I used the same method with stamps. The stamps enhance the book and give the viewer a peek of what the book is about. This piece enhances the heritage of the book with vibrant colors, and artwork.
